Firm ranked in Hedge Funds category; three partners individually honored
New York, May 20, 2021 — Premier boutique law firm Kleinberg Kaplan announced that it has been recognized by Chambers USA 2021 as a leading firm. The firm was again included in the “Hedge Funds (USA – Nationwide)” category, and three Kleinberg Kaplan partners were individually highlighted.
Debuting on the list is partner Jason Grunfeld, who also heads the firm’s business development. He was named a leading lawyer in the Hedge Funds category and was joined by Jamie Nash, co-leader of the firm’s Hedge Fund practice, who continues his streak of being recognized in Chambers.
Chris Davis, chair of Kleinberg Kaplan’s Investor Activism and Mergers & Acquisitions practices, was again ranked in the “Corporate/M&A: Shareholder Activism – New York” category.
As part of the editorial process, Chambers spoke with key clients who described the Kleinberg Kaplan team as “brilliant.” “If I have an unsolvable problem, they will be able to help me,” said a source. “I always go to them.”
Kleinberg Kaplan has been a leader in the funds industry for half a century and has developed a national and international reputation for its representation of private funds, including several pioneers in the hedge fund industry. Its Investor Activism practice has been ranked for years as one of the premier legal advisors to activist investors.
“It is a testament to the sophisticated and thoughtful work of the firm’s lawyers that Kleinberg Kaplan is regularly recognized for its quality in industry publications and by its peers. Through the tireless advocacy on behalf of clients which began with our founders 50 years ago, and continued consistently by their successors, the firm has thrived. That focus on legal excellence and client service continues today and has made us a go-to law firm in the funds space,” said Andrew Chonoles, Kleinberg Kaplan Managing Partner.
In addition to Chambers, Kleinberg Kaplan and its attorneys have been recognized in numerous other industry outlets, including The Legal 500: United States, IFLR1000 and U.S. News & World Report’s 2020 edition of “Best Law Firms,” among others. The firm was also ranked as a top legal advisor catering solely to activist investors both globally and in the United States in Bloomberg’s 2020 Global Activism Market Review.
Chambers bases its rankings on extensive market research into the strengths and reputations of U.S. attorneys and law firms and is widely considered to be one of the most reputable law firm directories in the world. Interviews are conducted with clients and attorneys across the nation to enable Chambers to assess technical legal ability, client service, commercial astuteness, diligence, commitment and other qualities most valued by legal clients.
