Kleinberg Kaplan Adds Maya Cater as Partner to Litigation Group

Premier boutique law firm Kleinberg Kaplan has announced that Maya D. Cater has joined the firm as a partner in its Litigation Practice. She arrives from Quinn Emanuel.

Ms. Cater has extensive experience representing clients in the financial services sector, including private investment funds, in commercial disputes. She represents both financial and corporate clients on matters involving collateralized debt obligations, residential and commercial mortgage-backed securities, credit default swaps, student loan asset-backed securities, and other financial instruments. She litigates high-stakes, multi-billion dollar matters in the federal and state courts, notably representing investors and trusts against sponsors, servicers and securitization counterparties.

Ms. Cater brings a breadth of legal experience to Kleinberg Kaplan. Prior to joining Quinn Emanuel, Ms. Cater worked at a litigation funder, where she evaluated cases for potential investment. Before that, she was responsible for regulatory and legal matters for a commercial real estate development firm.
