Kleinberg Kaplan Adds Private Client Partner Jeffrey Kolodny

Mr. Kolodny joins New York firm’s national platform for estate planning and administration bringing a practice focused on wealth preservation and tax planning strategies for high net worth individuals and affluent families and family offices
NEW YORK; September 7, 2018 – Premier, mid-sized law firm Kleinberg Kaplan announced that Jeffrey B. Kolodny has joined its Estate Planning and Administration Practice as a partner.
Mr. Kolodny brings substantial depth and experience which is well suited to Kleinberg Kaplan’s client base of private investment funds, entrepreneurs, investors and wealthy families and individuals. He counsels high net worth individuals, affluent families and family offices on estate planning and wealth preservation utilizing advanced tax planning, structuring, and personal planning strategies. Mr. Kolodny also has extensive experience assisting a broad array of entrepreneurial clients with the formation of limited liability companies, partnerships and corporations and counseling clients on business succession planning. With an advanced law degree in taxation, he provides astute counsel with respect to wealth transfer and tax planning. He also advises fiduciaries with respect to their obligations and beneficiaries regarding their rights in estates and trusts, in accounting proceedings, will contests and other Surrogate’s Court proceedings.
For international clients, Mr. Kolodny creates plans and structures that achieve wealth transfer and other objectives while minimizing taxes when multiple legal and tax systems apply. His practice involves frequent representation of foreign individuals acquiring or owning U.S. property, individuals and fiduciaries with assets in multiple jurisdictions, and U.S. nationals with assets abroad.

Mr. Kolodny holds both L.L.M. and J.D. degrees from New York University School of Law and an undergraduate degree from SUNY Albany.
