Firm News | May 6, 2019

Premier boutique law firm Kleinberg Kaplan announced that it has been recognized by Chambers USA for its work on behalf of the world’s leading hedge funds and alternative investment funds. Co-leader of the firm’s hedge fund practice, Jamie Nash, was also recognized by Chambers as a leading lawyer.

For more than 46 years, Kleinberg Kaplan has been a leader in the hedge fund industry, and has developed a national and international reputation for representation of private funds, including several pioneers in the hedge fund industry.

“While we are not among the larger firms by lawyer count, we punch above our weight in the expertise and service we provide our clients,” said Andrew Chonoles, Kleinberg Kaplan Managing Partner. “Being ranked amongst the nation’s elite law firms for our investment funds practice is an acknowledgement of the world-class work that our lawyers perform for all our clients.”

In addition to Chambers, the firm has been recognized in numerous other industry outlets, including the Legal500, the IFLR1000, and HFMWeek’s Service Provider Awards. Kleinberg Kaplan also was named by Institutional Investor’s Alpha magazine as one of the overall top four U.S. law firms serving hedge fund managers throughout the world and was recognized in Alpha magazine’s list of Top Hedge Fund Service Providers. The firm was also ranked third among legal advisers catering solely to activist investors in Activist Insight magazine’s 2018 report.

This year, Chambers USA noted that Kleinberg Kaplan is “very well known in the market for getting new managers started; the attorneys are very easy to deal with and have good contacts.”

Chambers USA bases its rankings on extensive market research into the strengths and reputations of U.S. attorneys and law firms and is widely considered to be the one of the most reputable law firm directories in the world. Interviews are conducted with clients and attorneys across the nation to enable Chambers to assess technical legal ability, client service, commercial astuteness, diligence, commitment and other qualities most valued by legal clients.
