Kleinberg Kaplan Recognized In Best In CRE’s Top Deals of 2018

Firm News | April 10, 2019

We are proud to announce that Kleinberg Kaplan Partner Ross Yustein and his real estate team have been recognized twice in Real Estate Forum’s Top Deals of 2018.

The Real Estate group is chaired by Ross Yustein. Members of the team working on the noted transactions included Euchung Ung, Joshua Lustiger, William Pena, and Logan Wyman. Also critical to the execution of the deals was the work of tax attorneys James McCann, Neil Dubnoff, and Deborah Taeid. The first recognized transaction was Elliott Management’s joint venture with Trinity Real Estate to acquire the Grande Lakes Orlando Resort. The acquisition includes the Orlando Ritz Carlton and the JW Marriott resort hotels and the adjoining championship-caliber 18 hole Greg Norman golf course.

The real estate team’s second recognized deal was Elliott Management’s joint venture with Wolcott Group and Marc Realty to acquire the River City Condominium in Chicago. The River City Condo Association and their residents agreed to a bulk sale of all 449 residential units to be converted into a high-end permanent rental building. This move has made the deal the largest condominium deconversion in Chicago history.

ALM’s Real Estate Forum magazine keeps readers up to date on the most notable real estate deals along with publishing current events, legal updates, opinions, and rankings regarding real estate. The Real Estate Forum analyzes hundreds of transactions that closed in the prior year and publishes them in their “Best of CRE” issue each April. The attorneys and deals showcased are not just selected due to size and value, but also for cleverness and the influence they have on the overall real estate market.
