Private funds associate Rita Fitch to serve on inaugural junior advisory board comprised of rising stars; Women in Funds looks to promote female leadership in private investment funds space

Premier boutique law firm Kleinberg Kaplan announced that private funds associate Rita Fitch has been named to the junior advisory board for WOMEN IN FUNDS, a social community for female leaders in the private investment funds industry and select leaders at law firms, allocators and industry consultants.

“Kleinberg Kaplan shares WOMEN IN FUNDS’ mission of building up female talent in the funds industry. We share in Rita’s excitement for this new leadership role and support her as she takes this meaningful step in her career,” said Jason Grunfeld, partner and head of business development for Kleinberg Kaplan.

He continued, “At Kleinberg Kaplan, we understand the value of a diverse workforce and embrace this as a firm and its importance in our daily lives. Our Women’s Group helps lead this effort and we appreciate and commend all the hard work that they have put into the initiative.”

WOMEN IN FUNDS is simultaneously a catalyst for and a supporter of female momentum in the male dominated investment funds industry. Its members come from over 50 of the nation’s top hedge and private equity funds. The organization has quickly grown through a grassroots effort. It hosts live events, charitable and social outings, podcasts, and private networking dinners for its members and also promotes women leaders through article placements.

“I was incredibly honored when Laura [Schnaidt], the founder, invited me to be on the junior advisory board,” said Fitch. “WOMEN IN FUNDS is passionate about creating a community for women in the private investment funds space where we have the kind of support and resources we need to advance our careers. I am eager to get to work with both the board and group’s members and contribute to the organization’s success.”

For almost 50 years, Kleinberg Kaplan has been a leader in the investment funds industry, and has developed a national and international reputation for representation of private funds, including several pioneers in the hedge fund industry.

Kleinberg Kaplan believes that diversity contributes to achieving its primary goal of delivering value added, cost-effective services to its clients and that a diverse workforce offers many benefits, including different perspectives on problem solving and achieving clients’ goals.
