January 5, 2026, NEW YORK – Premier New York-based boutique law firm Kleinberg Kaplan announces the promotion of two lawyers, Rita Fitch and Alexander Shiekman, to the firm partnership, effective January 1, 2026.
Rita Fitch is a member of the Private Funds & Investment Management group. Based in Dallas, Rita advises a growing list of firm clients in Texas, as well as clients nationwide and around the globe. Her practice focuses on the formation, structuring and ongoing operation of private investment funds, including hedge funds, private equity funds, managed accounts/funds-of-one, co-investment vehicles and other hybrid vehicles for managers of all sizes from start-ups to multi-billion dollar managers. She advises funds on investment management, securities laws and other general corporate matters, including regulatory filings and compliance issues. Rita also has significant experience with employment and termination agreements as well as upper tier/management company agreements.
Rita received her J.D., magna cum laude, from University of Pennsylvania Law School and her B.A., magna cum laude, from Villanova University. She also holds a Certificate in Business Economics and Public Policy from Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
An attorney in Kleinberg Kaplan’s Corporate Transactional & Finance practice, Alex Shiekman has a broad-based corporate and transactional practice, representing companies, entrepreneurs, asset managers, and investors across a variety of industries and at all stages of the corporate growth cycle. He advises clients on public and private offerings, convertible and traditional debt offerings, mergers and acquisitions, security token offerings and digital asset transactions, domestic and international shareholder activism, corporate governance and general corporate matters.
Alex received his J.D., cum laude, from Duke University School of Law and his B.A., summa cum laude, from Southern Connecticut State University.
