January 3, 2023, NEW YORK – Premier boutique law firm Kleinberg Kaplan announces the promotion of two associates, Moshe Segal and Derek Stueben, to the firm partnership, effective January 1, 2023. Moshe is a member of Kleinberg Kaplan’s Private Funds & Investment Management group and Derek is a member of the firm’s Corporate Transactional & Finance practice.

Moshe Segal focuses his practice on the organization and continuing operation of a variety of private investment funds, including hedge funds, private equity funds, hybrid funds, distressed funds, credit funds, structured product funds, co-investment funds and funds of funds. Moshe’s experience with private investment funds extends to the development and negotiation of the organizational documents of such funds and the preparation of their offering materials, side letters and seed deals.

Moshe received his J.D. from Columbia Law School and his B.A. from Beth Medrash Govoha.

Derek Stueben advises clients in areas of mergers and acquisitions, venture capital investments, debt and equity financings, business combinations and general corporate and commercial matters. He represents businesses at all stages of the corporate growth cycle, as well as institutional and individual investors considering investments in high growth companies. Derek has extensive experience advising clients from initial incorporation and early-stage seed financings through later-stage mergers and acquisitions, public offerings and other exit transactions. He has also operated as “outside general counsel” to enterprises across a wide breadth of industries, providing strategic business advice on topics ranging from corporate governance and investor relations to intellectual property protection and licensing arrangements.

Derek received his J.D. from Cornell University and his B.A. from Harvard University.
