Jason Mulgrew leads the firm’s Business Development and Strategy department. In this role, Jason leads and oversees a wide range of projects in the firm’s business development, marketing and client relations programs, creating, devising and implementing short- and long-term business plans that directly impact business generation and support and reinforce the firm’s high level of client service.


Jason is responsible for establishing the firm’s business development strategies and marketing direction. He prepares and updates business plans and presentations for specific business initiatives, as well as coordinates talent, marketing and client initiatives for all practice groups. Jason also identifies activities and opportunities to raise the profile of the firm and enhance the firm’s brand in the market.

On the strategy side, Jason partners with firm leadership and practice group leaders to target opportunities for growth and improve core business management functions, including client and work generation and strategic marketing investments. He develops business development/marketing budgets and manages and reports regularly on the efficacy of specific expenditures. He also works with key stakeholders to drive continuous improvements in the firm’s business, by identifying and executing ad hoc improvements to business processes, policies, structure and roles.

Prior to joining Kleinberg Kaplan, Jason held wide-ranging business development and marketing leadership positions and led global teams at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP, Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, and Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP.
